Wow.
The Boston Bruins have traded captain Brad Marchand to the Florida Panthers.
The #NHLBruins have acquired a conditional 2027 second-round pick from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Brad Marchand.

Marchand, the Bruins captain and a pending UFA, will be joining the team that has had the Bruins’ number for the last few seasons.
In case you can’t see the graphic above, the return for Marchand is to be a condition second round pick in the 2027 draft.
That second will become a first, either in 2027 or 2028, if the Panthers win two rounds in this spring’s playoffs and Marchand plays in 50% of their playoff games.
Marchand’s departure marks the end of an era (in more ways than one), but particularly when you consider he was the last remaining member of the 2011 Stanley Cup-winning team.
While it certainly isn’t a shock that Marchand was dealt, it’s a bit of a gut punch to have him dealt to the Panthers.
