An annual tradition.
The Bruins released their 2024 Opening Night roster on Monday, a day before the season gets started against the Florida Panthers.
While there are no surprises here, it’s still worth sharing the full list of players we can expect to see in the the early part of the season.
2024 Bruins forwards
Johnny Beecher, Justin Brazeau, Charlie Coyle, Trent Frederic, Morgan Geekie, Max Jones, Mark Kastelic, Cole Koepke, Elias Lindholm, Brad Marchand, David Pastrnak, Riley Tufte, Pavel Zacha
2024 Bruins defensemen
Brandon Carlo, Hampus Lindholm, Mason Lohrei, Charlie McAvoy, Andrew Peeke, Parker Wotherspoon, Nikita Zadorov
2024 Bruins goalies
Joonas Korpisalo, Jeremy Swayman
The B’s also announced that forward Matt Poitras and defensemen Ian Mitchell and Alec Regula had been designated “Injured Non-Roster” players.
Earlier on Monday, Jim Montgomery termed Poitras “day-to-day” and noted that he knew he wouldn’t be available for the opener.
As for Tyler Johnson, the Bruins haven’t announced that he’s been released from his PTO.
The team did confirm that Johnson wouldn’t be accompanying the group to Florida, so his situation remains up in the air.
As you may remember, Danton Heinen started last season in a similar fashion before ultimately signing a contract, so…we’ll see.
Also on Monday, the Providence Bruins announced that Kasimir Kaskisuo has been released from his PTO, ending his stint with the organization.
