Lots of it.
It is Wednesday, my dudes.
Apologies for missing the Morning Skate on Monday as my brain is very much in “summer” mode at the moment — but we’re back today.
In Bruins World, things remain relatively quiet: when will a Linus Ullmark trade happen, will Jake DeBrusk be back, etc.
Then there’s the weird subplot of fans who seem to think, for whatever reason, that the Bruins could trade for Brady Tkachuk and the inevitably wild trade proposals that follow.
(I don’t know why these Tkachuk trade ideas have become a thing, but I guess it’s just that funny time of year.)
There were a few relatively interesting Bruins tidbits from the past few days, including:
- Evander Kane saying that the Bruins sent him a gift basket the summer after he TKO’d Matt Cooke.
- Don Sweeney finishing fifth in the GM of the Year vote.
- The NHL confirming that Boston will host three Four Nations Face-Off games in February, including the championship game; Montreal will host the other four games.
The Stanley Cup Final rolls on as well, with the Panthers taking a 2-0 series lead over the Oilers by virtue of two home wins.
While you could argue the Oilers got “goalied” in Game 1, they were easily second-best in Game 2.
The big talking point after Game 2 was Leon Draisaitl’s hit on Aleksandr Barkov, which left Florida-associated people clamoring for supplemental discipline.
It’s an interesting turn of events, as Florida now wants hits causing a head injury to be punished to the full extent of the law.
Funny how that works, isn’t it?
If you’re a basketball fan, the Celtics are in action tonight in Game 3 of the NBA Finals.
Other than that, discuss…whatever there might be to talk about in June.
