I’m not crying, you’re crying.
Welcome to Friday, folks!
Along with it being the last Friday in June (time flies), it’s also the first day of the 2024 NHL Draft.
Round One will take place tonight at Sphere in Las Vegas, where attendees will be able to watch Macklin Celebrini highlights COMPLETELY SURROUND THEM.
The Bruins will be picking at #25 overall, unless there’s some intrigue before then — which is always a possibility.
Sky has had you covered with some great profiles, so we’ll see if the Bruins land one of those guys or do something different.
You never know with Dealin’ Don on Draft Day.
We’ll have an open thread going up today at 4 PM for all of your draft-related takes.
Elsewhere, former Bruin Linus Ullmark joined What Chaos! to share some more details on his exit from Boston and his relationship with Jeremy Swayman:
“Lot of tears.”
Linus Ullmark was “literally shaking” as he told Jeremy Swayman he’d been traded from the Bruins to the Senators

It’s OK to cry, just tell whoever sees you that you’re crying about something else.
Most of you have already read or discussed this in the comments, but it also emerged earlier this week that:
- Ottawa wasn’t on Ullmark’s no-trade list.
- There isn’t a contract extension in place at this time.
There’s also been lots of strange takes flying around in the aftermath of the trade, including some suggesting that the Ullmark deal is akin to the Joe Thornton trade (lol) and more complaining about the Jacobs Family as owners, which is weird.
Gripes about Bruins ownership made sense in, say, 2002, but at this point, what is there to complain about?
The team spends to the cap every year. They’ve been competitive for nearly two decades. There’s been a ton of investment in the area around TD Garden.
You can have your complaints about things like ticket prices, concession prices, and the fact that they got rid of the black and gold seats, but all the “sell the team” stuff seems kind of silly.
Maybe that’s just me though, and I have some soft spot for billionaires that I didn’t know about.
Anyways, what’s on tap for today?
