Lots of them.
Welcome to the first Thursday in September, folks!
While some of us (me) are still desperately holding on to the idea of summer weather, there’s certainly been that fall morning chill in the air the past few days.
Combine that with the return of the NFL tonight and pumpkin beer everywhere, and it’s probably time for me to admit that summer is over.
In another sure sign of fall, the Bruins’ second captains’ practice of the preseason will be held today at Warrior Arena.
Attendance was strong at the first one on Tuesday, so I’d expect that to be the case again this morning.
By now, most of you have already discussed this elsewhere, but putting it here for those who missed it:
- Brad Marchand had approximately 943 surgeries this offseason, including elbow, groin, and abdominal surgery.
- Former Bruin Torey Krug will miss the entire season with an ankle injury.
While it was a bit of a blow at the time, it sure seems like the Bruins made the right decision when declining to sign Krug to a long-term deal.
He mentioned that the ankle issues actually started with an injury he suffered as a Bruin, so it appears this is one of those compounding things over time.
Hopefully he can play again, but if not, hopefully he can at least recover to the point of being pain-free every day.
Lastly, the Bruins’ offer to Jeremy Swayman has been somewhere between 4 cents and $7 million, while Swayman’s request has been somewhere between $9 million and the entire moon, covered in gold.
Depends on who you believe, I guess.
Anyways, we’ll have a new player rating for you tomorrow. Until then, the floor is yours.
What’s on tap for this lovely September Thursday?
