We all do it.
Welcome to Thursday, folks — a rest day for all of us, including the guys who will be contesting Game 6 on the ice.
After Colorado beat Dallas to extend their series on Wednesday night, the NHL announced that Game 6 for the B’s will start at 7 PM on Friday at TD Garden.
The game will be broadcast on TNT, TruTV, and MAX in the United States, and on Sportsnet, CBC, and TVA in Canada.
My guess is that had the Dallas-Colorado series ended last night, the B’s game would have started at 8 instead; being an old person, I am just fine with a 7 PM start.
The big question surrounding Game 6 for the Bruins is “will he or won’t he” when it comes to Brad Marchand’s status.
Jim Montgomery noted on Wednesday that we’d know more today (Thursday); my guess is that today, they’ll deem Marchand a game-time decision tomorrow.
Obviously it’d be a big lift, both emotionally and in terms of on-ice impact, if Marchand can return, but it’s hard to say one way or the other when it comes to a potential concussion.
The B’s will practice at 11 this morning, so we’ll see if Marchand participates or if there are any further updates.
There will be plenty of other action to follow tonight, with the Hurricanes and Rangers facing off in Game 6 and the Canucks and Oilers facing off in Game 5.
The Rangers-Hurricanes game is a fascinating one, as the pressure should be on Carolina facing elimination. However, after being down 3-2, they’ve won two in a row and are back on home ice.
Going home to host a Game 7 after being up 3-0 in a series is not exactly where the Rangers would like to find themselves.
The Edmonton-Vancouver series is tied at 2-2, with the Oilers power play scoring approximately 493% of the time, which certainly helps.
What’s on tap for today?
