Head-to-Head: Blackhawks 1-0 Panthers
Time: 1 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: ABC; Sportsnet; ESPN+
We open up NHL predictions with the Chicago Blackhawks visiting the Florida Panthers. Chicago has confirmed that it will go with Petr Mrazek in between the pipes for this game. The Blackhawks are 2-5-3 in the last 10 games entering this matchup. Chicago has struggled away from home with a 6-16-3 record away from the United Center. Connor Bedard has totaled 15 goals and 30 assists for the Blackhawks.
Sergei Bobrovsky is the confirmed starter for Florida, which is 5-4-1 in the last 10 games. However, the Panthers did earn a victory in their last time on ice. Florida has gone 14-6 in games when it takes fewer penalties than their opponent. Sam Reinhart has been great all season with 29 goals and 25 assists for the Panthers.
Chicago did pick up a win in the first meeting of the season, but Florida should get the win at home.
Prediction: Panthers win 5-2.
New York Rangers vs Boston Bruins
Head-to-Head: Rangers 1-0 Bruins
Time: 3:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST)
TV: ABC; Sportsnet; ESPN+
The last game of our NHL predictions has the new-look Rangers visiting the Bruins in an “Original Six” matchup. Igor Shesterkin is the expected starter, but always check social media before locking in a daily fantasy starter. New York scratched out a 2-1 victory earlier in the season. Keep an eye on the lineup to see if J.T. Miller does make the team sheet for the Blueshirts. Artemi Panarin has netted five goals and added four assists over the last 10 games.
Jeremy Swayman is the projected starter for the Bruins, who are 5-4-1 in the last 10 games. However, Boston has dropped the last two games prior to this matchup. The Bruins are ranked first in league play serving 11.0 penalty minutes per game. David Pastrnak has been piling up the points with seven goals and 12 assists in the last 10 games for Boston.
The Rangers may have to go through some adjustments in their lineup and the Bruins should take advantage of this.
Prediction: Bruins win 3-2.
