Game notes
- The Boston Bruins are looking to get back on track this afternoon against the Arizona Coyotes after a lackluster performance their last game.
- The B’s fell 3-1 to the Buffalo Sabres on Thursday night in a low-energy loss which found the team on the defensive most of the night. If there was on silver lining, Marchand extended this goal streak to three games, now with five goals in that time span.
- This afternoon is the first meeting between the two teams this season. The Bruins will see Arizona next on Jan. 9, 2024.
- The Coyotes also lost on 4-1 on Thursday to Philadelphia Flyers to end a five-game win streak. For Arizona, Michael Carcone has five goals in his last five games while Alex Kerfoot has one goal and eight assists in his last five games.
- Head-to-head, the Bruins penalty kill has the edge for today. Even though they lost on Thursday, the PK went 3 for 3 on the kill. The penalty kill is now at 89.4% and the best in the NHL. Arizona’s PK is 81.2%.
- Charlie McAvoy is day-to-day after an upper-body injury in Thursday’s game against the Buffalo Sabres.
- Jeremy Swayman was back at practice yesterday and Brandon Bussi was sent back to Providence. Montgomery told media that Swayman is an option for today after missing some time this week due to illness.
