Game notes
- Welcome back, folks! Apologies for the lack of Morning Skates and such over the last several days, just a busy time with Christmas and all that. But now, Santa has left town and hockey has returned.
- The Bruins have lost four games in a row and five of their last six, so the vibes aren’t exactly great right now. Maybe a little rest over Christmas is just what the doctor ordered.
- These two teams most recently met back on Dec. 7, a 3-1 Buffalo win at TD Garden.
- With the Sabres rotating between Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen and Devon Levi, it remains to be seen who will start tonight. Luukkonen started Buffalo’s last game before the Christmas break, a 4-3 OT loss to the New York Rangers.
- Buffalo has had a weird, up-and-down stretch of late. For example, they recently got waxed by the Colorado Avalanche, then follow that up by beating the Vegas Golden Knights by three goals (in Vegas, too). They also got pasted by Columbus, then went out and steamrolled the Leafs. Down, up, down, up, down, up.
See ya tonight!
