Game notes
- The Boston Bruins are home this afternoon for one last game before the 4 Nations break as the Vegas Golden Knights roll into town. It’s the first time the two meet this season.
- Interim head coach Joe Sacco has repeatedly told the media that the team has treated these last handful of games as playoff hockey, trying to collect as many points as they can before the two-week break for a majority of the guys. The Bruins are 2-1-0 in that mindset right now.
- The Bruins are coming off a 3-2 loss to the New York Rangers on Wednesday after giving up two goals in the third period and one in which they had a hard time generating a lot of offense.
- Despite Wednesday’s loss, David Pastrnak’s goal extended his point streak to 12 games. It’s the third time in his career he’s hit a 12-game point streak. If he extends it, he’ll be tied for his longest which last happened in 2019.
- The Golden Knights last played on Thursday when they beat the New Jersey Devils, 3-1. Before the game, the team was a on a four-game losing streak.
- For Vegas, Massachusetts native Eichel has five points in his last five games with four goals in there.
- Eichel and Pastrnak both have 67 points so far and are in a three-way tie for 6th most points in the NHL. Theodore is also one of the top points leader for defensemen with 46 points.
- Head-to-head, the team’s PKs are pretty even. The Golden Knights’ kill is slightly better at 76.5% to the Bruins’ 76%. The story of the season, the Bruins power play on the other hand dropped to 14.6% while Vegas’ power play is 27.3% on the man advantage.
