Game notes
- Here we go again, I guess? Based on the number of folks in the Thursday night recap who indicated they skipped the late-night Seattle game, this one may not be the most anticipated Bruins game in recent memory. THE VIBES AREN’T GREAT, FOLKS.
- These two teams met at TD Garden a couple weeks ago, a 2-0 win for Vancouver.
- The Canucks are 6-2-2 in their last ten games, but to this point in the season, they’ve been far better on the road (10-2-1) than in the friendly confines of Rogers Arena (5-6-4).
- Former Bruin Jake DeBrusk scored in that game, and while he had a slow start in Vancouver, he has been in quite a groove since that return to the Garden: in the eight games since then, DeBrusk has eight goals, including a hat trick against Detroit.
- Quinn Hughes, who is probably running away with the Norris Trophy at this point, has 2G-4A-6PTS in his last five games.
- No official word yet (as of Friday night) on the statuses of Elias Lindholm and Pavel Zacha, both of whom left Thursday’s game early due to injury. There have been no official call-ups from Providence either, which you’d expect if neither guy is able to go.
- Earlier this week, Canucks goalie Thatcher Demko returned to game action for the first time since April, losing to St. Louis in OT. As Canucks Army opines, Demko may not automatically walk back into the starter’s role. Kevin Lankinen started for the Canucks on Thursday night, a 4-0 win over the Panthers.
- Barring a surprise decision from Joe Sacco, Jeremy Swayman will return to the crease tonight, looking to bounce back from a career-worst performance in Winnipeg.
I can already we’re all stoked to watch this game unfold.
Maybe try to score more than one goal? Allow only a couple? It’d be a start.
See ya tonight!
