Game notes
- The Boston Bruins look to right their course as the Dallas Stars come to town tonight — and find some offense along the way.
- The Bruins return home after a lackluster three-game road trip, culminating with a 4-0 blanking by the Nashville Predators on Tuesday. The B’s were 1-1-1 on the trip and gave up four goals on the penalty kill.
- The B’s have to find a way to stay out of the box. Penalties were adding up before the Bruins hit the road. Then on the road trip, they totaled 13 penalties — with six on Tuesday against Nashville.
- Jim Montgomery has been shaking up the lines in the past few games, but the team is still searching for its answer on offense. And it’s still looking for production from its top forwards. Elias Lindholm hasn’t registered a point in the last four games. David Pastrnak has one goal in that same time span. While Brad Marchand has some assists, he hasn’t found the back of the net yet. Pavel Zacha is pointless in the last five games and Charlie Coyle has only one point so far this season — a power-play goal.
- The Bruins were off yesterday so we’ll have to wait until a bit later to see what lines and defensive pairings look like tonight.
- In seven games, Dallas right now has the best penalty kill at 95.5%. Dallas last played on Tuesday, falling 4-2 to the Buffalo Sabres on the road. The Stars started the season with a four-game winning streak and have dropped their two road games.
- If I had to guess, I’d say its Joonas Korpisalo starting tonight.
- See ya tonight!
