Game notes
- The Boston Bruins are back after a big team win on Sunday with three games to go before the 4 Nations’ break as the Minnesota Wild are in town. This is the first game between the two this season.
- The Bruins will look to build on a strong offensive game on Sunday when they beat the New York Rangers, 6-3. David Pastrnak extended his point streak to 10 games with a four-point game and hat trick. He now has 10 goals and 13 assists in that time.
- Pastrnak’s longest point streak stands at 13 games back in 2019. He’s gone a few seasons hitting 10-game point streaks, but crossing over 11? He’s been on point streaks for 11 or more games five times in his career. Pastrnak last hit a point streak of 11 games in December 2022.
- The Bruins’ power play has snuck up to 15.2% and is now 4 for 8 in the last three games, scoring in each. Will it continue to improve? It has a shot with the Wild’s 31st in the league PK at 70.1%.
- The Wild were shut out by the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, 6-0, but were on a three-game winning streak before the most recent loss.
- The Wild traded Sammy Walker yesterday to Utah for future considerations.
- Mark Kastelic is available for tonight’s game, Interim head coach Joe Sacco said yesterday. Michael Callahan has also been cleared after taking a puck to the mouth and losing a few teeth. Sacco said he hasn’t finalized lines yet though.
- Kastelic last played on Jan. 20. He’s been in concussion protocols since then. Kastelic had two points on two assists in his last five games before being sidelined.
- Injury update: Sacco said after practice yesterday’s it’s “unlikely” that Hampus Lindholm will return before the upcoming break. He said it’s more about being precautious and not due to any setbacks.
- See ya tonight!
