Game notes
- The Boston Bruins return home for the tail end of a back-to-back to face the Seattle Kraken this evening. They’ll meet again on Dec. 12.
- The Bruins faired very well yesterday, with their 3-0 shutout win over the Philadelphia Flyers after a bout of poorly-executed games. We’ll see if the energy rolls over this evening.
- This will be the fourth of five road games for the Kraken on its East Coast trip. So far, the team is 1-2-0. Tonight will also be the second game of a back-to-back for Seattle. Yesterday, while the Bruins blanked the Flyers with three goals, the Kraken lost to the Ottawa Senators, 3-0.
- The Kraken are 1-3-1 in their last five games.
- Head-to-head, the Kraken have the better PK at 82.9% effective. It’s no good for the Bruins who are still struggling on the power play, 24th in the league at just 14.3%.
- For their respective teams, David Pastrnak and Matty Beniers each have six points in their last five game.
- Jim Montgomery changed lines yet again yesterday. They worked and maybe today they’ll stay the same to allow chemistry to build.
- While Joonas Korpisalo earned his first shutout as a Bruin, it would be shocking if Jeremy Swayman wasn’t in net with the back-to-back. Swayman was pulled from Thursday’s game. It’s hard to put all the blame on Swayman for his less than stellar GAA average as the Bruins defense needs to clean up in the Bruins’ zone.
- The B’s are still looking for some forwards to come back to life. Charlie Coyle and Pavel Zacha seem not existent on the ice. Coyle has one point this season while Zacha has only had one point in the past nine games. They just look invisible during games, almost like after thoughts.
- The Bruins will also celebrate Jack Edwards tonight with a special pregame presentation.
- See ya this evening!
