Game notes
- And we’re down to the final three games as the Boston Bruins continue to play out the remainder of the season with the Chicago Blackhawks are in town.
- The Bruins return home on a high note at least, defeating the New Jersey Devils, 7-2, on Tuesday.
- The win continued David Pastrnak’s hot streak, where he know has 14 point in his last five games. Pastrnak hit another 100-point season with his points last game, and if there is any silver lining with these last few games, it will be watching Pastrnak. He now sits fourth in the NHL point leaders.
- That also extends to his linemate Morgan Geekie who is seeing career-high numbers despite all the adversities and shortcomings of the team this year. Geekie hit a 30-goal season and has 53 points total so far. He’s registered 14 points more than last season and has steadily climbed in points over the last four seasons.
- The Blackhawks are 2-8-1 in their last 11 games. They last played on Tuesday when they were shut out, 5-0, by the Pittsburgh Penguins.
- It will be the last time Patrick Maroon will play in Boston as the veteran is set to retire after this season.
- While both teams are last in their divisions, and at the bottom of the league’s standings, the Blackhawk’s power play is actually 24% and their penalty kill is 80%. The Bruins’ PK has held steady around 15.3%, still one of the lowest out there.
- See ya tonight!
