Game notes
- I’m not even sure you can call two games on the road a “road trip,” but the Bruins will play their second game away from home tonight prior to hosting the Blues at TD Garden on Saturday. Road jaunt? Road outing?
- The B’s were dealt a blow on Wednesday when Jim Montgomery confirmed that Hampus Lindholm, who exited Tuesday’s game after blocking a shot, will be out “weeks” with a lower-body injury.
- With that in mind and with Lindholm potentially going on IR, the B’s recalled defenseman Jordan Oesterle from Providence on Wednesday.
- This is the second match-up of the season between these two teams. The Stars beat the Bruins handily at TD Garden about three weeks ago, winning 5-2. That game saw the Stars score three power play goals in the second period.
- Jake Oettinger is clearly the #1 goalie in Dallas, but Casey DeSmith, who started that win against the B’s, currently has better top-level stats than Oettinger. He’s 2-2-0 on the season, but sports a 1.79 GAA and .929 save percentage (albeit in a five-game sample size).
- The Stars boast the NHL’s second-stingiest team defense, allowing just 2.36 goals per game.
- Dallas is 5-5-0 in their last ten games. They pummeled Pittsburgh 7-1 last time out.
- Ol’ pal Tyler Seguin keeps on producing in Dallas. While he hasn’t pushed for 40 goals in quite a while, he’s scored 20+ in the last three seasons, including 25 last year. He has seven goals in just ten games so far this season.
- The Stars have weathered a relatively slow start from Jason Roberston. After putting up 109 and 80 points in the last two seasons, he has just seven points in 14 games. By putting this in digital ink, I’m guaranteeing him a multi-point night tonight.
- As a reminder, please be decent to one another in the comments section/Public Skate/life in general. Personal attacks won’t be tolerated. Most of you are doing just fine, so just stick with it.
See ya tonight!
