Game notes
- Fresh off of an encouraging win over the Canucks in Vancouver, the Bruins continue their Western Canada swing with a visit to the Saddledome, where the Flames are 11-4-1 on the season.
- Calgary has had a similarly up-and-down season to the Bruins thus far, with each team sitting at 35 points. The Flames have one two of their last three games, but prior to that, they had lost six of seven (with two of those losses after regulation).
- Oliver Wahlstrom, claimed on waivers over the weekend, will wear #71 and practiced with the Bruins on Monday. However, Joe Sacco hasn’t determined when or where he’ll see his first game action.
- These two teams played each other at TD Garden a little more than a month ago, with the Bruins winning 4-3 in OT. That game saw Brad Marchand get with OT winner after the Bruins blew a two-goal lead in the third period.
- Dustin Wolf, who was in net for that loss at TD Garden, is coming off of a 32-save shutout of the Florida Panthers on Saturday.
- Jonathan Huberdeau, who has struggled to find his footing since landing in Calgary as part of the Matthew Tkachuk trade, is off to a decent start this season. He has 3G-3A-6PTS totals in his last five games.
- Coming off of a 5-1 win, I wouldn’t expect Sacco to do much tinkering or shuffling with his lineup — but I’ve been wrong before.
See ya tonight!
