Another close game another three points for Boston.

After the fireworks to end Boston’s last game you might expect some penalties but Boston played it clean tonight committing no called penalties and New York was only a little worse getting a lone call against them early in the Third. Boston was able to get the lead in the second frame but could not hold the lead as New York was able to tie it up. The third was mostly all Boston as they were able to hold NY to only six shots in a tie game, and were able to get a crucial goal to give them the regulation win and stay alive in the playoff hunt.

Game Notes

  • Magic Number: 14 Elimination Number: 7 Boston does their job today but got no help from Minnesota as Ottawa beats them in regulation
  • Winning all three points against New York is the only thing that has prevented the next game against Ottawa from becoming an elimination game.
  • Fresh off agreeing to a SPA Nicole Kosta gets two points leading Boston to the Victory.
  • Boston still needs help from Ottawa. Ottawa needs to drop at least two points in one of their other games as well as Boston beating them in regulation.
  • The next game in Ottawa is all but an elimination game for Boston. A regulation loss and they are a point away from ending the season, a regulation win and their magic number drops to 8 with the elimination number remaining at 7.
