Al Horford is set to play in the NBA during the 2024-25 season.
Horford will return for another season after winning his first NBA title with the Boston Celtics this year, per Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck.
“Al is coming back for next year,” Grousbeck said, via The Greg Hill Show. “That’s what I’ve been told.”
“He loves it here. He and his family love it here. He couldn’t be happier, and we are also happy to have him.”
Horford is in his second stint with the Celtics and finished the season averaging 8.6 points and 6.4 rebounds per game. He’s been with the team for the last three seasons and will be in his fourth season with them next year.
Before that, he was with the Celtics from 2016-19 before spending a season with the Philadelphia 76ers and then the Oklahoma City Thunder. He spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Atlanta Hawks.
In 17 seasons, Horford has averaged 13 points, eight rebounds, and three assists per game.
The Celtics are coming off their first NBA title in 16 years after beating the Dallas Mavericks in five games.
