Gary Washburn: Asked Al Horford whether the trip by Kentavious Caldwell-Pope was intentional: “Yeah, it was,” he told the Globe. “I was starting to run on the break and he got into me there and impeded my progress.” #Celtics #Magic

I asked #Magic coach Jamahl Mosley about Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s 0-of-6 performance from 3 in Game 2 and how to get more shooting from him in Game 3:
“They’re highly contested shots and I think his ability to keep finding it, keep stepping into the same way we know he can.” pic.x.com/Thlchz4FD7 – 11:31 PM

Didn’t see KCP in the #Magic locker room.
Wendell Carter smiled when I asked him about the crowd getting on him: “It’s physical. It’s the playoffs. It comes with it. KCP just so happened to be in it, but it could’ve been any of us. It happens…we love that though….” – 10:33 PM

It’s easy to appreciate Paolo Banchero’s game. It just adds another layer when you see he’s making these slick power moves while being a legit 6-10. Taller than Al Horford. – 9:18 PM

Looks like KCP and Horford just got tangled up, but because it’s KCP, things got heated.
Reviewed for a flagrant but it’s a common foul. Crowd boos but it’s the right call. – 7:59 PM

It looks like KCP tripped Horford going down the floor and Mazzula along with Jaylen had to hold Horford back from approaching KCP. Play is being reviewed. #Celtics #Magic – 7:57 PM

NEW @CelticsCLNS — Talked to Kentavious Caldwell-Pope about his foul on Jayson Tatum as Tatum enters Game 2 doubtful with a wrist injury.
“Sometimes stuff is going to happen, but I didn’t think any line was crossed,” Franz Wagner said.

More on this storyline
“I didn’t see the flagrant,” Mosley said at morning shootaround ahead of Wednesday’s Game 2 at TD Garden. “Two guys were going for the block and I think it was just the fall [that] was probably what set it off more than anything.” Tatum (right wrist) remained listed as doubtful throughout the afternoon because of a bone bruise on his shooting hand that came from the bad fall. “It’s playoff basketball,” Mosley said. “And I don’t think that warranted what it was.” -via Orlando Sentinel / April 23, 2025
Jason Beede: “That stuff really means nothing to me,” #Magic’s Cole Anthony told me and @mvsonwilliams about Al Horford’s comments about Kentavious Caldwell-Pope’s foul on Jayson Tatum. “At the end of the day, if anything, I look at it like a positive because now we’ve got them complaining.” pic.x.com/Dz9d13Rr6e -via Twitter @therealBeede / April 23, 2025
The play that appeared to irk Horford the most was one in which Caldwell-Pope and Wendell Carter Jr. collided with Tatum midair while the Celtics forward was driving for a two-handed dunk in the fourth quarter. The usually stoic Horford expressed his outrage following the play and gestured toward nearby Magic players, especially Caldwell-Pope, who was called for a flagrant foul. “I’m not sure what goes into [plays like that],” Horford said. “[The] only thing I would say is that it’s the playoffs, so the game is going to be more physical, it’s going to be more intense. I feel like those plays are probably going to happen more often than not.” -via ESPN / April 22, 2025
