When Derrick White was traded from the San Antonio Spurs, he was criminally under-rated by fans of the Boston Celtics, many of whom griped over the cost of getting him on the roster. Since then, those same fans have done an about-face on White’s value, and his “discovery” on the national stage by former podcaster and current Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick helped elevate him further.
Being a major part of why Boston hung Banner 18 only added to the growing love, and now that he is fitting seamlessly into the US National Team at the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Colorado native is becoming a national hero.
