Injuries are always a factor in the NBA postseason, and in the Boston Celtics’ 2024 Eastern Conference semifinals series with the Cleveland Cavaliers is no exception. Both the Cavs and the Celtics have seen players inching back towards availability, and others in the opposite direction, as the second round series continues to unfold.
For the Celtics, star big man Kristaps Porzingis is getting closer to a return to action with his strained right soleus injury that has had him out since the first round series vs. the Miami Heat. And the Celtics’ frontcourt rotation may be even thinner than in Game 3.
That’s because backup center Luke Kornet is also on the injury list with right calf tightness. Mercifully for the Celtics, he is listed as probable, however.
