The Boston Celtics have held steady in the latest edition of Andy Bailey’s weekly NBA power rankings on Bleacher Report despite a perfect week of games against the Portland Trail Blazers, the Utah Jazz, and two wins vs, the Phoenix Suns.
Given that three of those four wins came on the road, that only makes their week even more impressive. But Boston did not move up given the team that knocked them out of the top spot — the Denver Nuggets — has not lost since either. But Boston is at least safe from the Oklahoma City Thunder passing them as well for the time being, as OKC dropped a tilt to the Indiana Pacers.
“To stop the offensive flood that Boston becomes on most nights, you have to throw up a lot of dams,” writes Bailey. “And every time it seems like one player’s flow is slowed down or shut off, someone else breaks out.”
