The Boston Celtics outlasted the Portland Trail Blazers to win 121-99 at Moda Center on Monday night, getting back to winning in streaks with a relaxed blowout, if such a thing is possible.
Portland led by 2 to start the first frame and stayed in the game for most of the first quarter. But Boston’s talent won out in the end, with the Celtics building as much as a 24-point lead before finishing the night with a 121-99 victory. Big nights from Jaylen Brown (27 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists), Jayson Tatum (26 points, 5 boards, 8 assists), and Sam Hauser (22 points off the bench) sealed the win for Boston.
With the win, the Celtics improve to 50-14 for the season, further strengthening their grip on the NBA’s best record with a 5-game lead over the Oklahoma City Thunder, and an 8.5-game lead over the Milwaukee Bucks in the East.
