The Boston Celtics are already in offseason mode after winning the 2024 NBA Finals. Not even two weeks removed from securing a league-record 18th title, the team’s front office is hard at work getting ready to compete for banner No. 19.
Boston had one of the most balanced rosters in the NBA this past year, and depth and flexibility were key to the club’s success. Sure, the Celtics have plenty of star power, but the team’s reserves were crucial in powering Boston to 64 regular season wins and an eventual championship. This summer, a few of these featured bench guys could receive contract extensions, including sharp-shooting forward Sam Hauser. Boston has a team option worth $2.1 million for next season, but two sides could come to terms on a longer deal.
President of basketball operations Brad Stevens intimated after the draft that he and the Celtics hope to find a way to keep Hauser in Boston for the foreseeable future.
