The Boston Celtics fell to the Atlanta Hawks on the road 120-118 in a game they led by as many as 30 points. With the result, Boston’s win streak ends at nine games.
The Celtics exploded out of the gate with a 44-point first quarter, and looked to be on their way to another massive victory. A cold shooting streak and a gutsy Hawks rally flipped the script, however. A 30-point Boston lead gave way to a game that was decided in the final moments of the fourth quarter. The Celtics couldn’t manufacture enough offense down the stretch, managing just one made 3-pointer in the second half. Likewise, they simply could not string together enough defensive stops to prevent an Atlanta win.
Let’s recap what went down during Monday’s 120-118 Celtics collapse against the Hawks.
