Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday gave his white teammates some credit following the team’s Game 1 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
When asked about the Celtics throwing different players at Luka Doncic throughout the game, Holiday said it’s a testament to Boston’s depth.
Holiday also said it helps that even the “white guys” on the Celtics can compete against Doncic.
“I think it helps a lot, throwing different guys at him,” Holiday told reporters. “Different guys that play defense differently. Some aggressive, some not. But I think even our white guys guard, so hopefully, it’s a challenge on him.”
That remark from Holiday immediately went viral once the public heard it.

Doncic scored 30 points in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, but it wasn’t easy. He had to work for every basket.
Unsurprisingly, Doncic has already turned his focus over to Game 2. The All-Star guard would love nothing more than to even up the series before it heads back to Dallas.
“Either you lose or you win,” Doncic said, via ESPN. “First to four, we’ve got to focus on the next game.”
Game 2 of the NBA Finals is set for this Sunday. It’ll be televised on ABC.
