The Boston Celtics agreed to trade Malcolm Brogdon to the Los Angeles Clippers as part of the original Kristaps Porzingis trade last June that fell apart. Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports that the Celtics “have been looking for a Malcolm Brogdon trade since June,” which could be part of an offer for Jrue Holiday.
The Clippers backed out of the trade due to concerns over Brogdon’s health.
Boston quickly pivoted to a trade of Marcus Smart to the Memphis Grizzlies, which allowed them to also acquire two first round picks with Porzingis.
Brogdon signed a two-year, $45 million extension with the Indiana Pacers in 2021, which expires in 2025.
