The Boston Celtics’ Jrue Holiday ranked the No. 18 overall point guard in NBA for 2024-25 by the good folks over at our sister site of HoopsHype as the annual start of the league’s Ranking Season . With much of the high-level men’s basketball no longer taking place on this continent, minds turn to the season ahead, and what we expect of it.
And when it comes to the order of floor generals for the NBA season soon to kick off, H/H’s Frank Urbina sees Holiday as the 18th-best point guard in the league. “Despite now being 34, Holiday remains one of the best defensive guards in the NBA while still being a capable scorer and playmaker when called upon,” he suggests.
“He’s even got an adept off-the-ball slashing game perfect for a team as loaded as Boston’s, as well as spot-up shooting prowess from beyond the arc.”

“Holiday, a two-time All-Star, might not be able to reach that All-Star level again while with the Celtics … but in his role, he’s without a doubt a star, a player who only cares about winning and has the talent on both ends to make a huge nightly impact towards that happening.”
