Jrue Holiday was a shock casualty of the Milwaukee Bucks‘ decision to trade for Damian Lillard. He was sent to the Portland Trail Blazers, where he was then re-routed to the Boston Celtics in a separate trade. That deal ensured the Celtics had the best backcourt pairing in the NBA and set the franchise on a path toward Eastern Conference domination.
However, it would appear Holiday wasn’t pleased with how things went down. During a recent interview on “The Draymond Green Show” podcast, Holiday revealed how the Bucks didn’t warn him that he would be traded. Instead, the franchise told him after the deal had been made.
“I think for me, it was just a shock,” Holiday said during a recent appearance on “The Draymond Green Show.” “At least let me know 24 hours in advance. Not five minutes in advance. Maybe I’m asking for too much. I mean, I won (a championship) there.”
The Celtics and Bucks are widely expected to face off in the Eastern Conference Finals later this season. Holiday could potentially be matched up with Lillard. As such, we could see the veteran NBA champion take his game to another level as he looks to prove his former team wrong for trading him.
