The Celtics are leaving no stone unturned in their quest for Banner 19.
Boston reportedly made a roster tweak Tuesday, signing center Dmytro Skapintsev to an Exhibit 10 deal, according to Michael Scotto of HoopsHype. The C’s opened up their final offseason roster spot by waiving guard Jordan Schakel shortly after signing him to his own Exhibit 10 deal.
Skapintsev is 7-foot-1, so he brings some size to the table. The Ukrainian big man was called up by the New York Knicks last season and made two appearances, spending the majority of the last two seasons with the Westchester Knicks of the G-League — averaging 10 points, 6.7 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.4 blocks.
Skapintsev and Schakel are both two-way eligible and enter training camp looking to compete for a spot with the Celtics.
The C’s don’t have any more offseason roster spots, so any additions moving forward would have to come with a subtraction. Boston opens training camp on Sept. 25.
