Defense was in short supply for much of the game, and Indiana thrived playing fast and aggressive. Boston couldn’t quite contain the Pacers, even as the Celtics own scoring attack looked polished and methodical. The resulting foot race kept things close from wire to wire. It took Jaylen Brown connecting on an improbable corner 3-pointer to force overtime. Boston’s defense in that overtime period proved to be the key, with Jayson Tatum providing his own heroic 3-pointer to secure a tight Celtics win. Tatum and Brown combined for 62 points, 19 rebounds, and 9 assists in the win.
