Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown appeared pretty upset on social media after he was snubbed from the U.S. Olympic team in favor of his teammate Derrick White. But he was in no mood to talk about it on Thursday.
Appearing at the ESPYs last night, Brown was approached by Cam Newton, who decided to ask him about the Olympic snub. But Brown wasn’t taking the bait, declaring that he was just there to have a good time with his date.
“I ain’t got no comment I’m with my beautiful date tonight,” Brown said, via @big_business_ on X.
Brown was more than happy to comment when it initially happened. Mere hours after it was announced that White would be replacing an injured Kawhi Leonard in Paris, he tagged Nike and wondered what was going on.
“@nike this what we doing?” Brown posted on social media.
That had fans wondering why Brown was suddenly so silent on the issue:
“Brown tweeted about it but can’t make a public statement? How do you say no comment now after calling out Nike in multiple tweets,” one user wondered.
“Cam a (expletive) stirrer like (expletive)! Also Jaylen Brown definitely gonna be on his podcast when the Olympics over,” wrote another.
“I shouldn’t be surprised cause he’s a Celtic but what a loser. Twitter fingers are strong but can’t say anything for real,” a third wrote.
Do you think Brown is still bitter over the Olympic snub?
