The Boston Celtics are set to sign Malik Fitts and Kelan Martin to second 10-day contracts. Their original deals expired on Saturday.
Fitts and Martin were signed towards the end of the All-Star break, when Boston had to fulfill the minimum roster requirement of 14 players. The Celtics had opened up five roster spots following their trade deadline maneuvering.
Fitts and Martin got into one game on their initial 10-day contracts. If Boston wants to keep either player following this second 10-day deal, they’d have to sign them for the remainder of the season. The Celtics recently signed Nik Stauskas to a two-year deal, and also added Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet following the trade deadline.
