The Boston Celtics selected Creighton forward Baylor Scheierman with the No. 30 pick at the 2024 NBA Draft, bringing aboard a versatile player. Scheierman spent the last two seasons of his collegiate career with the Bluejays after playing three years at South Dakota State University.
Scheierman was an excellent shooter during the 2023-24 season for Creighton. He shot 38.1% on 3-pointers, powering him to 18.5 points per game. He’s also a smart passer, although he will need to work on his ability to take it to the rim. Scheierman is an outstanding rebounder, and logged 9.0 boards per game last season. As such, he has an ability to impact the game in multiple ways, even if he isn’t ready to be the focal point. That alone is a massive boost for any rookie entering the NBA, but even more important for Scheierman as he joins a loaded Celtics roster.
