Derrick White continues to rise in prominence. He has become a key cog in the Boston Celtics rotation and found himself in All-Star discussions to begin the year. His stellar play has since earned him a call-up to the Team USA roster as a replacement for Kawhi Leonard.
Since teaming up with Steve Kerr’s roster, White has become an important piece of Team USA’s puzzle. His point-of-attack defense, secondary creation and willingness to slot into whatever role is asked of him have led to a strong tournament from the recently crowned NBA champion. White will likely continue to play a role when Team USA faces France for the gold medal on Saturday, Aug. 10.
During a recent episode of the “How ‘Bout Them Celtics?” podcast, hosts Jack Simone and Sam LaFrance discussed White’s impact on Team USA. They noted how the veteran guard is producing at a high level within his role and has plugged a genuine gap within Team USA’s roster.
