It was not all that long ago that current Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla was himself being named the head coach of the Celtics’ squad for the NBA’s Las Vegas Summer League, only to work his way up through the ranks to take the helm of the regular roster down the road.
So it is no minor move on the part of the Celtics head coach to elevate DJ Macleay to the role he himself once held for the 2024 iteration of the Sin City Celtics for this summer’s Las Vegas Summer League. MacLeay talked about his goals and expectations for Jordan Walsh, Neemias Queta, Jaden Springer and others in Las Vegas, along with what it’s like for him to help coach them and replace Charles Lee on the staff, in a recent interview with CLNS Media.
