When the Boston Celtics blew out the Oklahoma City Thunder at TD Garden this past Wednesday night to get their 60th win of the NBA’s 2023-24 season and the league’s best record to boot, neither ball club was entirely healthy.
The Thunder, in particular, were without two of their key players in Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Jalen Williams. So, the blowout is probably less of a reliable gauge of where each ball club is at the moment in terms of their future development as contenders moving forward. Do the Boston Celtics or the Oklahoma City Thunder have a brighter future?
Speaking on a recent episode of ESPN’s “NBA Countdown” show, Kendrick Perkins, Chiney Ogwumike and Brian Windhorst debated this very question for a segment of the show.
Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say.
