The 2024 NBA Draft doesn’t have a whole lot of hyped prospects except for the ultra-polarizing LeBron “Bronny” James Jr. But even the latest ESPN prediction on where he’ll go isn’t exactly hyping him to the moon – or the first round.
In the latest mock draft from ESPN analysts Jonathan Givony and Jeremy Woo, the outlet has Bronny going No. 54 out of 58 overall to the Boston Celtics. Hardly a ringing endorsement of his NBA roster potential.
Four of the 28 players who were selected in the second round of last year’s NBA Draft failed to make a single appearance in an NBA game as rookies.
It’s still a better prospect than going undrafted entirely, but that can’t really be ruled out that this point either.
Bronny James didn’t put up big numbers during his lone season at USC and he doesn’t have the absurd measurables that his own father had coming out of high school 20 years ago.
Only 58 out of hundreds of prospects from college and overseas are going to be drafted and even though Bronny put up impressive combine numbers, he’s going to be hard-pressed to find himself taken ahead of a good number of those players.
Do you think Bronny will be drafted by the Celtics?
