After four strong years with the Boston Celtics, forward Grant Williams was traded to the Dallas Mavericks last summer and returned to Boston as a member of the Charlotte Hornets in April. But he apparently feels that he did enough in Boston to deserve a tribute and seemed upset that he didn’t get one.
Appearing on Run It Back, Williams was asked by Michelle Beadle if he was upset that he didn’t get a video tribute during his return to TD Garden. Williams said it would’ve been nice to see “highlights and the highs” from his four-year run with the Celtics while he was there.
“It definitely sucked because it would’ve been cool to see the highlights and the highs that we had throughout that team,” Williams said.
As you can probably guess from the replies to Run It Back’s video, fans seem to think that Williams must be out of his mind to thing that he deserved a tribute after the way his time with the team ended:
“Dude you ruined team chemistry and your role from the previous season because you were trying to out play for a contract. No way a tribute video was deserved,” one user said.
“Who does this man think he is??” wrote another.
“Buddy averaged 6 PPG with Boston and he thinking he’s somebody he’s not,” a third wrote.
Do you think Grant Williams deserved some kind of tribute from the Celtics?
