The Mayor of the City of Boston, Michelle Wu, has declared that today, Sunday, April 14, is officially to be known as “Mike Gorman Day,” and for good reason. The voice of the Boston Celtics for more than four decades now, Gorman officially calls the very last regular season contest of his storied career today.
And while the famed Boston broadcaster will still be around for some of the postseason, and could make guest spots from time to time if it tickles his fancy, as far as his being a Boston institution goes, well — it had to end sometime, right?
