Wednesday night saw the Boston Celtics vanquish the Oklahoma City Thunder 135-100 at TD Garden, thanks in part to a strong showing from All-NBA forward Jaylen Brown. He contributed 23 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, and 7 blocks, as well as a scoring outburst in the fourth quarter that closed the door on any possible Thunder comeback.
With the win, the Celtics eclipsed the 60-win mark for the first time in over a decade. Likewise, Boston secured the top record in the NBA this season, confirming home court for the Celts through the entire playoffs, Finals included. This was the topic of conversation for much of the postgame media sessions for players and coaches.
For Brown, however, the topic of his injured left hand was also top of mind. Brown was listed as questionable for the game, and had missed two of Boston’s five previous games with what the team called a hand sprain.
