The Boston Celtics are one step closer to returning to the NBA Finals thanks to a monster performance from Jaylen Brown in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals Thursday night at TD Garden. He scored 40 points, tying a career postseason high and powering the Celtics to a 126-110 victory against the Indiana Pacers.
The Celtics as a collective didn’t have much juice offensively to open the game. This made Brown’s contributions even more special. He had 26 points in the first half, and floated Boston’s scoring attack until his teammates found a groove in the third quarter. From there, it was off to the races for the Celtics. Indiana couldn’t keep pace with Boston’s high-octane offense, thanks in no small part to Brown, who remained aggressive on both ends. After playing the hero in Game 1, his excellent play was an equally critical piece to another Boston win in Game 2.
Brown was asked about his performance afterward and how he sees himself in the broader NBA landscape.
