The Boston Celtics were all over the Dallas Mavericks in Game 1 of the NBA Finals on Thursday.
They jumped out to an early lead and never relinquished it when they won by 18, 107-89. They have a 1-0 lead in the series and are three wins away from their first NBA title in 16 years.
After the game, Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving, who played two seasons for the Celtics, appeared to take a shot at their fans.
“Earlier in my career, it was a different relationship that I had with Boston and just being able to come here, be settled with a veteran group, now I’m here as the veteran. Over the past few years, just experiencing the playoffs here, even the regular season, it’s been the same thing. I thought it was going to be a little louder in here,” Irving said.

Irving may have poked the bear a little bit with those comments and it might lead to Celtics fans getting even louder for Game 2 this weekend. They also could look to boo him for those comments.
Game 2 is pivotal in this series as the Celtics try and take a 2-0 series lead while the Mavericks will try and steal homecourt advantage.
Game 2 will tip-off on Sunday at 8 p.m. ET.
