Over the last few weeks, fans of the Boston Celtics have been celebrating the 43-year career of legendary broadcaster Mike Gorman. At the end of this season, Gorman will retire, ending a storied era of play-calling.
Celtics Wire spoke with people who have gotten to know Gorman best over the decades, from his contemporaries on the broadcast to members of the franchise itself. In the next edition of the series, we talked to two members of the Celtics media orbit about their favorite Gorman memories, what they admire about his work, and their best wishes in retirement.
Max Lederman is a producer at NBC Sports Boston and a colleague of Gorman’s. He has gotten to know Gorman in a unique behind-the-scenes capacity. Nick Gelso runs the CLNS Media Network, and has been able to see Gorman’s reach across the broader Celtics press community.
