Robert Williams had to have knee surgery in late-March after tearing the meniscus in his left knee. Williams then seemed to rarely be at full health when he returned during the Boston Celtics NBA Finals run.
The good news is that there are no long-term concerns for Williams’ knee. No further surgery was deemed necessary after the Finals. Williams was told to get plenty of rest, and he should be fully available at the start of training camp.
Williams is coming off a breakout season. The athletic big man made the All-Defensive second team. He was also a candidate for Defensive Player of the Year. This upcoming season will see Williams start the first year of a four-year contract extension with the Celtics.
