The Boston Celtics may not be used to playing a team five times in the regular season. But when they played the Indiana Pacers for the fifth time this season, the contest ended up looking more like a playoff game than a late-January regular season contest.
Both ball clubs traded haymakers, with Boston opening up a 20-point lead in the first half. But the Pacers battled back in the second half, even stealing a lead briefly before the Celtics pulled away again in the final frame. Boston held Indiana to just 30.8% from beyond the arc, but lost the rebounding and assist battles by 10 and 8, respectively. But the perimeter clamps and getting to the line 7 more times was enough for Boston to escape with the victory.
