Boston Celtics big man Kristaps Pozingis gave a positive update on his injured calf on Saturday following a team practice at the Auerbach Center in Boston. The former All-Star suffered a soleus strain during Game 4 of the opening round of the 2024 NBA postseason and has been sidelined ever since.
Subsequent testing on the calf revealed Porzingis avoided a major injury, and did not hurt his achilles, which is attached to the soleus muscle. Instead, he suffered a mild strain. With the right treatment and patience, this should not keep Porzingis off the court for too long. Porzingis explained he is listening to team doctors and making sure to not rush back to action too quickly and risk worsen the injury. As such, told reporters it is difficult to predict when he will be back, although he is very eager and excited to get back as soon as he can.
“I’m doing everything I can to speed it up because I want to be back out there as soon as possible.” Porzingis said of his recovery process.
