We are continuing our series ranking which teams in the Eastern Conference pose the biggest threat to the Boston Celtics next season. Coming in at No. 10 is the Charlotte Hornets.
Much like the Detroit Pistons, the Hornets have had a respectable summer, and finally look ready to make a push for a berth in the play-in tournament after wallowing in incompetency for the past few seasons. The team isn’t brimming with talent, but finally has a balanced roster with complimentary pieces that are largely on the same timeline. As such, Charlotte is not going to threat Boston in the big picture, and won’t be a team to worry about when the postseason rolls around. But the Hornets do look ready to be a hungry ball club ready to make some noise in the regular season. Catching Charlotte on a random Monday on a back-to-back will demand Boston’s full attention.
Let’s take a closer look at the No. 10 team on our list of Celtics competitors in the East next season.
