The Boston Celtics have taken another step to shore up their frontcourt rotation soon after getting news that star Boston big man Kristaps Porzingis would be out at least five to six months after getting surgery last week.
Just hours after news broke of the Celtics electing to re-sign backup big man Luke Kornet to a one-year deal, Boston is reportedly also bringing back reserve center Neemias Queta on a multi-year deal, per the Athletic’s Shams Charania. No details were made available at the time of the reporting, but it is likely for the league minimum with at least a partial guarantee for this coming season.
Boston still needs to work out a deal with reserve big man Xavier Tillman Sr. to return the frontcourt that helped them win the 2024 NBA title. But there is a chance the team goes in another direction should Tillman get a large offer sheet.

Conversely, Boston might also prefer to go in a different direction should the right free agent express interest at an agreeable number in terms of salary.
